The Sergeant at Arms – also called the facility manager – takes care of the club’s physical property, such as the banner, the timing device, and other meeting materials. The person will also make sure, that the room is set up well for the meeting.
I joined BIT back in 2014 because I wanted to speak English regularly to improve my oral expression for business. Over the years, I have gained much more than what I initially had expected: Not only am I more fluent when speaking in my second language English and made great friends, but I also gained so much self-confidence that I am now at ease speaking to larger groups, be it in business meetings, in workshops or when meeting friends for socialising – both online and face-to-face. This boost in self-confidence has also helped me to land my dream job in 2017!
By serving on the officers team, I can give back to my fellow Toastmasters what they gave to me, hoping that I can contribute to a great experience for everyone who visits or joins our club.
